Get out of chronic pain by fixing how your body moves

Most people I work with have tried multiple approaches without lasting relief.

This works by addressing the underlying issues that cause pain to keep coming back.

Built from my own recovery from severe chronic pain.

How This Works

1) Assess how your body is functioning

We look at posture and movement patterns to identify what's contributing to pain.

2) Build a personalized plan

You get a simple, tailored set of exercises based on your body.

3) Adjust as your body changes

We refine your plan over time as your movement improves.

This is a simple process, but it requires consistent participation to work.

Testimonials

Here’s what others have experienced working through this approach.

“The MRI confirmed a hip impingement, and I was advised that at my age, surgery might only accelerate deterioration.

Working with Maryann, I almost immediately reduced my pain from an 8/9 to a 1. After 6 months, I now regularly go days without any pain.”

— Brendan

“In just a couple of days of doing the exercises, my back and neck pain disappeared, and my jaw pain hasn’t returned.

I can now see myself standing much straighter, and my weight feels more evenly distributed. Even the inflammation around my lower back has diminished—and between that and my posture, it looks like I lost 10 pounds!” — Becky

— Becky

“I’ve had shoulder pain for 20–25 years, with very limited range of motion.

After 2 months of working with Maryann, the pain is gone—which has made a huge difference in my quality of life. My range of motion has improved tremendously, and my forward head posture is returning to a more natural position.”

About Maryann

I wasn’t able to walk due to chronic hip pain — even after surgery and seeing more than 20 professionals.

Everything I tried focused on symptoms, but nothing addressed what was actually causing the issue. That changed when I found Posture Alignment Therapy.

That experience shaped the way I now work with clients.

Today I work with people to identify the underlying causes of their pain and guide them through simple, personalized exercises that restore balance and improve function.

I’m trained in Posture Alignment Therapy and use this approach to guide clients through recovery.

Sessions take place in a private, quiet home setting.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • No — you don’t need a diagnosis. We focus on how your body is functioning and build from there, rather than relying on a specific label or condition.

  • People I work with are typically dealing with chronic or recurring pain, including issues with the back, hips, knees, ankles, feet, shoulders, elbows, hands, and neck.

Most have already tried other approaches without lasting results and are looking for a different way forward.

  • This approach looks at how your body is working as a whole, not just isolated symptoms. Instead of focusing on temporary relief, the goal is to address what’s actually causing the pain to keep coming back.

  • We’ll talk about your history and goals and look at how your body is moving. From there, I’ll create a simple, personalized set of exercises for you to begin at home. Everything is straightforward and adjusted to your level.

  • Daily practice tends to produce the fastest results, but consistency over time is what matters most. We’ll adjust based on your schedule and what feels realistic for you.

  • It varies, but many people start to notice changes within the first few sessions. Longer-term results come from consistent practice over time.

  • It depends on your situation. Some people work with me for a short period to address a specific issue, while others continue longer to fully restore function or maintain progress.

By the time we finish working together, most people have a set of 4–8 simple routines that they rotate through. Continuing with those routines is what helps maintain the improvements and keep things moving in the right direction.

  • No — you don’t need to stop other treatments. This can be done alongside physical therapy, chiropractic care, medical treatment, or other approaches.

That said, I’ve found that people often make the most progress when they’re able to stay consistent and focused, rather than dividing their attention across multiple approaches at once.

If you’re working with other providers, we can always talk through how to structure things in a way that feels clear and manageable.

  • This works best for people who are willing to actively participate and consistently practice the exercises. It’s not a passive treatment—you’re actively involved in the process, which is what allows for lasting change.

  • Most people I work with have already tried multiple approaches without lasting results.

Here, the focus is on addressing the underlying issues rather than just managing symptoms.

  • Most people notice less pain, improved movement, and a body that functions more naturally—so they’re no longer constantly managing symptoms.
